Claridge’s Decade of Glam Drinking

“Just hanging out and having a great time,” said Chace Crawford at the Claridge’s Bar 10th anniversary party last night in London. The Gossip Girl star was on hand to help the ultraglamorous hotel bar celebrate its anniversary alongside a loyal group of high-profile Londoners. Rod and Kimberly Stewart joined Jade Jagger (who wore a puffy prom dress) with boyfriend Dan Williams, Rosamund Pike, Vivienne Westwood with former daughter-in-law Serena Rees of Agent Provocateur and husband Andreas, Nicky Haslam, Pippa Middleton, a pregnant Leah Wood, Dinos and Jake Chapman, Zandra Rhodes, and more. All sipped pink Champagne while noshing on tidbits of foie gras, baby kebabs, and outrageously scrumptious chocolate-and-raspberry samosas.

Considered the chicest place in London to meet up for drinks, the bar, as well as the hotel consistently draws in the international jet set, including Donatella, Posh, Nicole Kidman, and Mariah Carey, and various heads of state and royalty, including the U.K. royals who use the hotel for private events. (You can perhaps exclude Courtney Love from the list. She was reportedly banned for life after starting a fire in her $3,000-a-night suite.) But every hotel needs a good story, and this one has had plenty. “I love this place,” said Mr. Stewart, who was inseparable all night from leopard-print-clad wife, Penny. “On special occasions I will bring my wife here to treat her. He added, clearly not able to help himself, “And, well, tonight’s the night.”
